Love Yourself Heal Your Life

Here we are in the first week of May – already!

Image of my free download - 5 ways to love yourself when life gets messy. Relating to the blog - Here we are in the first week of May - already!

Coming out of lockdown, here in the UK, has been amazing. Meeting friends and loved ones outside and seeing shops opening again feels so special. I still can’t believe that we are in the first week of May already!!!

However, for some, it is a very difficult time. We could still be very nervous or even fearful of venturing out and mixing with others. This is understandable and I would suggest, allow those feelings to surface and be very gentle with yourself as we move forward with life. As always, if you need to have a chat, please get in touch as I’m always happy to help in any way I can.

♥️♥️♥️

I wanted something that would help and give value but to have it looking so beautiful too is really wonderful.

A big thank you to Maggie Duerden too for setting all the landing pages etc up for me – you are a real whiz with all things WordPress and I am very grateful for everything you do for me.

Inner Child Work

Here are few of the reviews I received from the Inner Child Session I ran in April. It was, as always, a privilege to share Louise’s special work and I’d like to thank the women who joined me for making it such an insightful and inspirational experience.

“Liz is a calm and caring coach, who is an expert in inner child work. Her workshop was a delight to attend. I really enjoyed the mediations which she delivered in a warm and gentle manner. This allowed me to access my inner child and communicate with this part of myself, and what this revealed was very enlightening. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Liz, and I love it that she’s informed by the work of Louise L Hay.” Geraldine

“I attended the inner child workshop with Liz yesterday and found it incredibly insightful and a safe space to help heal past wounds. Liz is very warm and understanding and I felt I was in safe hands. We did some exercises that helped me to reconnect with my inner child in a gently, loving manner and I left the workshop feeling more relaxed with some tips on how to have some fun with my inner child. I would highly recommend anyone who is doing self development work to take a workshop with Liz to help yourself and in turn, your inner child.” Rahima

“I attended Liz’s Inner Child workshop to explore this because I had not heard of Louie Hay.  Wow, powerful stuff and something I will be exploring further with Liz. The things that came up already explain how I was feeling recently  and I was able to go back to my partner and say ‘so this is why I am like that!’  Thank you Liz for the free workshop to explore something I did not know about and am know glad I know!!  And when life settles a little I will be back in touch!” Anonymous

Positive Affirmations

I have found using positive affirmations really powerful in my life. If this is something you’re keen to develop further, here are some more of Louise’s that you can try on for size. The important thing is to say them every day and in front of a mirror is even better!

I love and approve of myself.

I am Divinely guided and protected at all times.

I come from the loving space of my heart, and I know that love opens all doors.

The more peaceful I am inside, the more peace I have to share with others.

My unique and creative talents and abilities flow through me and are expressed in deeply satisfying ways.

I am in the process of positive change.

I am in charge, I now take my own power back.

As I say yes to life, life says yes to me.

I Love Myself Therefore…

Another exercise which you might like to try is in this video. It’s so easy to do and very powerful:

Meditation

Text - Meditation

Meditation is a powerful act of self-love. Meditation plays a major part in my life and has made a profound difference to my life. It also plays a major part in my own coaching, and I suggest that my clients introduce meditation into their daily practice as soon as we start working together. In fact, I send them my recordings as part of their growth work.

You can’t get meditation wrong!

There is so much hype about sitting in the right position and not letting your thoughts in. You can’t stop your thoughts BUT you can slow them down. You can observe them like a train stopping at a station. You can choose to get on the train and let your thoughts take over or you can watch the train leave the station.

I would suggest introducing meditation into your life if you can. As early in the day as possible will make such a difference. You can set the alarm 10 minutes earlier for the practice. If done consistently, this will make a massive difference to the day ahead. This will start your day with such positivity and light.

This small extract was from a recent session I shared and I feel it can help all of us right now 💜💚💜

“In every moment of life, there are infinite reasons to suffer and infinite reasons to be happy…

What matters is where we’re putting our attention…

Become aware that everything you need to be happy is already present in this moment…

All of the conditions that are needed for peace, joy, and freedom are already here…

Let’s no longer ignore the positive conditions that are available in this moment…

Problems do exist, but they are not all that exists…

Focus on everything in life that is good…

We are no longer regretting the past or worrying about the future…

We are here and present to the miracles of life.”

Meditation quietens the mind and that can only be a good thing. And, it can do so much more.

Are you feeling stuck and want to move on? Follow this link to book in a confidential call to discuss if working with me could be a good match.

Honouring Boundaries

Image of Liz Doyle & Text Honouring Boundaries

What do I mean by honouring boundaries?

Do you have a hard time saying no? 😳😳

Do you find it difficult to ask for what you want?

Can you tend to neglect your own needs and wants?

Can you tend to get caught up in taking care of other people at the cost of yourself?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you’re in the right place!

Do you feel it might be a good time to introduce some healthy boundaries with your loved ones?

I think that us women can have a hard time saying no to what we don’t want and yes to what we do want.

Boundaries are the physical, emotional, and mental limits we set in our relationships. They allow us to protect ourselves from being manipulated, used, violated, or enmeshed in other people’s needs.

Boundaries allow us to separate who we are, and what we think and feel, from the thoughts and feelings of others.

The presence of healthy boundaries helps us to express ourselves and say no when needed. We can create appropriate limits and acknowledge the same in others.

As part of my coaching sessions, we spend time exploring our current boundaries and see how we can develop healthier ones.

It could be that you’re extremely affected by the emotions and energy of the people and space around you.

At times, it can be very hard to distinguish between your “stuff” and other people’s “stuff.”

In the absence of healthy emotional boundaries, you can become so overwhelmed and overstimulated by what’s going around you that sometimes it can become hard to function normally.

That can be both emotionally and physically draining.

And this is what Louise Hay had to say about healthy boundaries:

It would not be possible to enjoy healthy relationships without the existence of personal boundaries, or without our willingness to communicate them directly and honestly with others.

To set personal boundaries means to preserve our integrity, take responsibility for our needs, and assume control of our lives.

Knowing that we have a right to personal boundaries requires us to take responsibility for how we allow others to treat us.

Our boundaries act as filters permitting what is acceptable in our life and what is not.

What we say YES to and what we say NO to defines our life.

If you think you could do with setting some healthy boundaries with your loved ones and maybe those you work with, then, have a look at this short video:

A-Z of Self-Love. Honouring Yourself & Honouring Boundaries

This is such a big subject and I think we’re always working on establishing healthy boundaries within our relationships. But if you find that this is an area you could do with some further help on, then follow this link to find out how we can work together.

Are You Enough?

Image of Liz Doyle - Are you enough?

Along the way, some of us (an awful lot of us) have learnt to believe that we’re not good enough – are you enough?

Not clever enough

not pretty enough

not outgoing enough

not old enough

not young enough.

You are enough

I am enough

we are all enough

more than enough.

It’s time to step into your enoughness

It’s time to step into your magnificence and just own it. Enough of being hard on yourself, enough of putting yourself down, enough of not shining your light. You are enough, you’ve always been enough and you always will be enough.
💚
Am I going on with the enough word? No…. I don’t think I’ve said it enough.
💚
So basically, what I’m saying is YOU ARE ENOUGH.
💚
Just think what would happen if every person on this planet, from a young age, just thought they were enough? The world might be a kinder place, a happier place, a more loving place.
💚

In this short video, I talk about why so many women don’t feel good enough.

Why don’t women feel good enough?

If this is something that really resonates with you, follow this link to see how working with me can change those feelings of not enoughness.

Here are some of the things you’ll get by working with me:

Find your way to a place of clarity, alignment and clear intention

Discover or rediscover your own personal power

Deep self-love which leads to inspired action…

Letting go of comparisonitis

The knowledge that you have always been worthy enough to attract the future you want

Find freedom in forgiveness…

Transform overwhelm, doubt, and fear into love, confidence, and trust

Trust your intuition to know when you’re on the right path, and determine when a change is needed

I’d love to hear from you 💚

CELEBRATING THE LEGACY OF LOUISE HAY

Celebrating the legacy of Louise Hay 1926-2017

Louise Hay’s gentle and powerful messages of love, forgiveness and acceptance have inspired me hugely both personally and professionally. Celebrating the legacy of Louise Hay is such an honour and especially on the anniversary of her passing 3 years ago.

She was an inspirational teacher who educated millions since the 1984 publication of her bestseller You Can Heal Your Life, which has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide. Renowned for demonstrating the power of affirmations to bring about positive change, Louise was the author of more than 30 books for adults and children, including the bestsellers The Power Is Within You (a personal favourite) and Heal Your Body.

Louise was an absolute pioneer in personal development.

The work of Louise addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ourselves, so it is timeless and offers us the opportunity for powerful personal transformation. The foundation of Louise’s work is, of course, loving and approving of yourself!

Here is some more of this amazing woman’s background to give you an idea of who she was (and is), taken from her website. Follow that link to find out more. Of course, if you’ve already come across Louise Hay, then I don’t need to say much more.

Dubbed “the closest thing to a living saint” by the Australian media, Louise Hay is also known as one of the founders of the self-help movement. Her first book, Heal Your Body, was published in 1976, long before it was fashionable to discuss the connection between the mind and body. Revised and expanded in 1988, this best-selling book introduced Louise’s concepts to people in 33 different countries and has been translated into 25 languages throughout the world.

FROM STRUGGLE TO STRENGTH

Through Louise’s healing techniques and positive philosophy, millions have learned how to create more of what they want in their lives, including more wellness in their bodies, minds, and spirits. Her own personal philosophy was forged from her tormented upbringing. Her childhood was unstable and impoverished, and her teen years were marked by abuse. Louise ran away from home and ended up in New York City, where she became a model and married a prosperous businessman. Although it appeared that her life had turned around, it was not until the marriage ended 14 years later that her healing really began.

Louise started what would become her life’s work in New York City in 1970. She attended meetings at the Church of Religious Science and began training in the ministerial program. She became a popular speaker at the church, and soon found herself counseling clients. This work quickly blossomed into a full-time career. After several years, Louise compiled a reference guide detailing the mental causes of physical ailments, and developed positive thought patterns for reversing illness and creating health. This compilation was the basis for Heal Your Body, also known affectionately as “the little blue book.” She began traveling throughout the United States, lecturing and facilitating workshops on loving ourselves and healing our lives.

It is always a joy to share a taste of her work in an easy to follow way so that others can get a taste of how I help women in my coaching.

You’ve had a little introduction to Louise Hay and this link will introduce who I am and how I work with women, helping them to move on from past trauma or just a period in their life where they might feel stuck.

Inner Child Work

Inner Child Work

Communicating with our inner child plays an integral role in my coaching work.

We can often understand, intellectually, why we feel the way we do or where our negative beliefs come from. BUT deep inside us, our inner child still has that fear, anguish, shame or anger. We need to show that inner child that they are safe, loved and secure.

Using meditation and other exercises within my 1 to 1 sessions, we learn how important it is to understand how our inner child feels.

My inner child knows how perfect she is. I hold this child close to my heart and tell her how much I love her.
Louise Hay

Our patterns for love were learned as a child.

If there were hugs and kisses, warmth and affection, and you were encouraged and praised, you will expect these same things as an adult.

On the other hand, if love was slamming doors & yelling & screaming, or disapproving silence & unreasonable expectations, or even brutality this will be your inner emotional connection as “love”.

If, as a child, you looked for love and all you found was pain, what will you find when you grow up and look for love?

Yes, more pain…

Using Louise Hay’s life changing philosophies, you get to understand your relationships as an adult better.

Until you release the old patterns, you will attract people who will give you pain.

Blaming the other person is useless. We need to change the patterns, and that is what my sessions are all about.

We cannot release the past if we do not know what there is to release. We need to see what negative beliefs are within us.

Here is a short video which will give you a little more of an insight to inner child work:

I is for Inner Child

I suggest that you check in with your inner child every few days.

My inner child knows how perfect she is.

I hold this child close to my heart and tell her how much I love her.

Louise Hay

Inner Child work plays a very important part of my coaching and you know, at first I didn’t get it! Totally honesty here. But the more I connect with my inner child with Louise’s wonderful teachings, the more I am healed and living the life I’ve always wanted.

How my 6 one to one coaching sessions can help you:

  • How our thoughts and beliefs shape our lives
  • Awareness of negative thoughts and how to change them
  • Family patterns and how they affect our lives and choices
  • Healing the child within us
  • Dealing with difficult emotions
  • Forgiving ourselves and others
  • Unlocking a new future by learning to love ourselves and others
  • Creating healthy relationships
  • Freeing ourselves from damaging patterns and behaviour
  • Creating more vibrant health
  • Finding a sense of purpose, and
  • Writing a new story for our lives

Here is the link for more information on my package of 6 online sessions; all based on the philosophies and the teachings of Louise Hay, the pioneer of personal development.

Forgiveness

Image of Liz Doyle - Forgiveness

Louise Hay’s gentle and powerful messages of love, forgiveness and acceptance have inspired me hugely both personally and professionally.

It can be really hard to forgive.

It is a process that can take years. I really believe in forgiving and yet, there are things that I might never be able to forgive. But I’m willing to forgive which is always the first step.

I suggest beginning by forgiving yourself for not being able to forgive in this moment!

I’ve also learned that I do not have to forgive the act itself, but I can try to forgive the person who committed it. The goal is to separate someone’s deeds from who they are as a person.

I have had a rather long, challenging and ultimately freeing journey of forgiving my mother and others who hurt me badly and letting it all go.

If you’re not ready to forgive yet, approach yourself with gentle amusement.

Be kind to yourself and remind yourself that you’ll forgive when you are ready.

By giving yourself that kind of permission, it makes it much easier to get on with life, because you’ve opened up some emotional space for yourself and you’ve accepted where you’re at.

Here’s a little video – How forgiveness lets us free ourselves.

A-Z of Self Love – Forgiveness

Fake forgiveness is temporary, conditional, past is ongoing, motivated by fear and there is anger

True forgiveness is permanent (!), it is unconditional, you state the past is over, it is inspired by love and it takes time

True forgiveness is when you can say, “Thank you for that experience”

Oprah Winfrey

Don’t judge if you see people forgiveness quickly.- it’s not necessarily fake.

Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting but learning.

Many of my clients have found forgiveness one of the most powerful tools within our coaching sessions.

But in particular, the exercises on forgiveness were incredible.

I have started a daily practice of forgiveness and it is very freeing.

Happy St Valentine’s Day

Image of Liz Doyle for Happy St Valentine's Day blog

Happy St Valentine’s Day to you. Here we are on the day of love but I think it’s all about loving yourself unconditionally and believe me, this is profound.

Sounds simple but not so easy to do.

So instead of looking outside ourselves for love, tell yourself you are loved, loving and lovable.

Just because we exist we are always enough.

Imagine if we could all love ourselves more every day?

Do you think how we’re treated by others would change?

Do you think we would treat others differently?

Can you imagine how that would affect the world? .

I don’t need anyone else’s approval to love myself completely and unconditionally. I am enough and so are you. . You are enough.

It’s not selfish to put yourself first – doing something just for you is so important.

What can you do for yourself today or this evening?

The video, will encourage you to do just that:

What can you for you today?

Here Are some of my favourite Positive Affirmations To Help You Love Yourself and Bring More Love into Your Life:

I choose to see clearly with eyes of love. I love what I see.

Love is around every corner, and joy fills my entire world.

Today, I remember that Life loves me and will reward me.

I rejoice in the love I encounter every day.

I am surrounded by love. All is well.

I am comfortable looking in the mirror and saying, “I love you. I really love you.”

I draw love and acceptance into my life, and I accept it now.

Love is all there is!

Have a wonderful day and evening if you have a partner and if you don’t because love always starts with you 🌹🌹🌹😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️

My one to one coaching sessions are all about loving ourselves and throughout the 6 sessions, we have exercises to do exactly that.

They are for anyone who are feeling a bit stuck in life.

It could be that lots of areas are working for them but in one area, for instance, their relationships are proving difficult and challenging.

That could be current or previous intimate relationships, those with their family or even their colleagues and/or bosses.

At the workshop, they will find ways to identify the blocks that are in the way and understand where they first came from.

This awareness will then lead to letting go of those old beliefs that held them back. These beliefs could be about themselves or about others. 💜

My sessions are not heavy nor miserable but have loads of moments that have real fun and humour as well as being totally uplifting. They are also a very safe and confidential place where women can express and explore their feelings at a much deeper level. 💜

If you want to know more about what it’s all about, here is the link to find out more.

Whatever you’re up to – Happy St Valentine’s Day ♥️
