Hello, beautiful soul, it’s been a hot little while since I’ve been here!!! But I just wanted to share that I am so incredibly moved by the shifts I’ve seen lately within my community. If you’ve been following along, you know that the Open Your Heart 10 Day Challenge on Insight Timer has been a profound journey for so many of us.
What is “Heart Armour” and Why Do We Build It?
We often go through life wearing armour, thinking it protects us. But that same armour that keeps out the pain also keeps out the love, abundance, creativity, and joy that we are meant to experience. Opening your heart isn’t a one-time thing, it’s a daily practice of softening, trusting, and showing up for yourself.
To support your journey, I’ve put together a recap of our 10 days together, including the affirmations and links to keep your momentum going.
The 10-Day Heart Opening Recap
Day 01 | What Does It Mean to Live with an Open Heart?
Living with an open heart means moving from a place of “protection” to a place of “connection.” It’s about feeling gratitude even when life gets boring, forgiving easily (not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace), and holding compassion for yourself and others.
The Goal: To give and receive with joy and balance.
Affirmation: “I open my heart to loving abundance.”
Day 02 | The Heart Chakra
Your heart chakra (Anahata) isn’t just in the front of your chest, it wraps around the back of your body too. In the full Insight Timer course, we dive deeper into connecting with the heart chakra. This is a glimpse of the core teaching.
Practice: Give yourself a BIG hug. This opens the back of the heart chakra too, where we often store old burdens.
The Challenge: Do one thing every day just for you. Buy yourself flowers, you always deserve it.

Heart Chakra blockage symbols or signs are:
A fear of intimacy – building “walls” to prevent others from getting close. Not being able to forgive past betrayals. Feeling disconnected from the feelings of others.
And physically, feeling pressure or even ‘armour” around the ribs. Cold hands or feet and high/low blood pressure. Shallow breathing or frequent “sighing.”
Day 03 | Lightness of Being
What makes you feel alive? Non-judgement is the fastest way to lighten your energetic load.
Practice: For the next 7 days, write down two different things you deeply appreciate about yourself in your journal.
Reflection: What gives you life force energy and inner peace?
Day 04 | Mirror Play

Mirror work is one of the most powerful tools for self-healing. It’s about looking past the “flaws” and truly seeing the soul within.
Practice: Look deeply into your own eyes and say: “I love and approve of myself exactly as I am.”

Day 05 | The Heart & Mind Coherence

Science is finally catching up to what the mystics have always known. When we focus on gratitude, our brain and heart begin to work in harmony.
The Wisdom: “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.” – Albert Einstein.

Day 06 | Expanding Your Heart Energy
Did you know your heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater than your brain’s? Your heart is your primary intelligence. It affects your intuition and your emotional balance on a cellular level.

Day 07 | Healing a Broken Heart
A “broken” heart is often just a heart that has forgotten its own radiance. Your needs were made to be met, not overcome.
Practice: Take 3 small actions today to remind yourself that you are worthy of being cherished.

Day 08 | Re-establishing Trust
This is about the sacred ritual of renewing the relationship between your heart and your womb (your creative centre). When these two align, you interact with the world in a more fulfilling, powerful way.
The Mystery: Experience the ancient power that resides within you.
Day 09 | Open Your Heart to Your Self-Worth
Being you is the most abundant thing you can do. When you stop trying to be “enough” and realise you are already “everything,” the world shifts.
Tools for Clarity: Use the Passion Test or CliftonStrengths to identify your unique gifts.
The Mantra: “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” – Brené Brown.
Day 10 | Open Your Heart to Get What You Want
What do you actually want? Not what you should want, but what your heart craves. State it out loud. Write it down.
Affirmation: “When I do what’s right for me, it serves everybody.”
Daily Rituals for Long-Term Transformation
The challenge may be 10 days, but the transformation is for a lifetime. To keep welcoming new and exciting opportunities, I recommend introducing these small rituals into your daily routine:
- Morning Mirror Talk: Start your day by looking at yourself and saying, “I love you! I really, really love you!”

1. How do I know if my Heart Chakra is blocked?
Common signs of a blocked heart chakra (Anahata) include feeling emotionally numb, holding onto past grudges, or struggling with “heart armour”, a defensive emotional state. Physically, you might notice tension in your chest or shoulders. Practising daily heart-opening affirmations and chest-opening stretches can help move this stagnant energy.
2. What is the benefit of “Heart-Mind Coherence”?
Heart-mind coherence is a state where your heart’s rhythmic patterns become ordered and stable. According to the HeartMath Institute, this reduces stress, improves cognitive function, and boosts your immune system. By focusing on feelings of gratitude and appreciation, you align your heart’s electromagnetic field with your brain, leading to better emotional balance.
3. Can I do “Mirror Work” if it feels uncomfortable at first?
It is so completely normal for mirror work to feel awkward or emotional initially. This discomfort usually stems from years of self-judgement. The key is to start really small. If you can’t say “I love you” yet, start by looking into your eyes and saying, “I am willing to love you.” Consistency is always more important than perfection.
4. How long does it take to see results from a heart-opening practice?
While lots of people can feel an immediate “lightness” after a single meditation or mirror work session, deep transformation usually takes 10 to 30 days of consistent practice. This allows your nervous system to move out of “protection mode”. Your subconscious mind can then let go of its defences so you can finally feel safe and open. Instead of just surviving, you’re rewiring your brain to make deep connection your natural way of being
